5 simple ways to improve English pronunciation

Regardless of the language, standard pronunciation is also an extremely important thing. Whether or not the pronunciation will affect whether the opponent understands what you want to say or not, understand what you are trying to show, or want to emphasize. However, it is not good to study blindly. You should find a way to learn for yourself, and find ways to make your learning faster, easier, but also more effective.

Here are the steps that EFL – Teaching Town every day to help you "gout" and improve your English pronunciation.

1. Practice vowels, consonants, and syllables

English words are made up of vowels and consonants, which combine to make syllables. Depending on whether the consonant comes before or after the vowel and the language of the term, the vowels (A, E, I, O, and U) in English can be pronounced in a variety of ways. There are short and long pronunciations for each vowel, such as the short A sound in the word "bat" (like a long sound in the word "play").

Additionally, depending on the term, English consonants can be pronounced in a variety of ways. For instance, in the word "cereal" (cereal), consonants can be pronounced as S sounds, but in the word "cat," they can be pronounced as a negative k. (cat).

Therefore, you must separate each consonant-vowel pair from the syllable in order to understand the pronunciation of each word in English. Following that, you can look up and learn how to pronounce vowels with the aid of a dictionary and the International Phonetic Alphabet to become accustomed to the pronunciation techniques that can help you pronounce words correctly when speaking and identify sounds more clearly when you are listening.

2. Listen to your own voice

The Science Behind Why People Hate The Sound Of Their Own Voice

If you don't know where you're wrong, it's impossible to make mistakes. If you don't correct it, you won't be able to learn from your mistakes, which makes it challenging to get your pronunciation better. You won't be able to hear pronunciation errors if you only read a paragraph in English.

Because your attention will be solely on reading the paragraph and speaking at that moment, it will be challenging to listen for pronunciation mistakes. Try recording your voice and listening to what you have spoken to enhance your pronunciation. Open again, and as you speak, pay attention to the terms you use incorrectly. You'll become aware of your mistakes and how poorly you pronounce words in this way. From there, you can practice pronouncing those words to get better at them.

3. Observe the verbal movements when pronounced

If we have trouble imitating a word's pronunciation, we might need to go over some of the earlier information. See how the speaker comes across when we hear a new word. Right, that does sound a little weird. Just try to see it, though! The speaker's appearance became larger as they spoke. Do the lips have "round lips" contours?

Compared to other languages, English is significantly more dependent on the movement of the image. This explains why some pupils consider studying English pronunciation to be torturous. In addition, the tongue is crucial to proper pronunciation. When someone is speaking to us, we cannot see their tongue, but understanding the position of the tongue and the sound it makes will be very helpful to us.

4. Learn how to sing an English song

Discover your favorite English songs, sing along, and listen to them. This will increase your attention and make learning pronunciation easier for you to assimilate. Singing along with a song also teaches you how to enunciate the words and gives you a better understanding of the stress and intonation of the words. Your soul will feel better after learning this because you won't have to concentrate on reading, which can be unpleasant or monotonous. Just sing along while concentrating on the proper pronunciation.

To make learning easier, try the suggestions above, put them into practice, or find learning strategies that work best for you. Remember that there is no quick way to learn; instead, you must be persistent. If you are persistent in your learning, you will eventually acquire the outcomes you want.

5. Find yourself a friend to study

To help your pronunciation and speaking learning are not boring, easy to discourage, find yourself a person to study with you. Joining English centers will help you a lot in this. You can easily find one or several friends to learn to pronounce with you.

In addition to helping you more interested in learning pronunciation, having friends with the same study also makes you find each other's mistakes, which will quickly improve your learning. You will also be more comfortable studying with friends rather than with teachers, right?
